Last week I attended the Peoples Climate March in NYC and brought back audio for you. I seemed to have developed a mellower sound. We will see if it lasts. Listen here or on iTunes, and Stitcher.
Today’s episode has one main section–Sounds and Voices from the Peoples Climate March. I marched with a large LGBTQ group of people concerned for the climate, and I asked them, Why are you marching for climate? They provided colorful, passionate, humorous, and moving answers. You also get to hear our chants, a marching band, and a moment of silence (which may sound odd for a podcast but since it is followed by a moment of noise, it works well.)
You will also hear from two LGBTQ luminaries–Rev. Nancy Wilson, moderator of the Metropolitan Community Church, who took part in a presentation, A Queer Response to Climate Change, and Justin Vivian Bond, the performer you may know from Kiki and Herb and Shortbus, and who recently came out as female. She shares some of her reasons for marching.
Enjoy this audio recreation of a very LGBTQ version of the Peoples Climate March.

Closing Comments
You can listen to Climate Stew podcast at www.climatestew.com, iTunes, and Stitcher Radio. Special thanks to Rev. Nancy Wilson, the Queers for the Climate, oh, and Joe G, who I swear I saw marching as Frida Kahlo.
This was so beautiful to listen to. <3 I'm very sorry that I wasn't able to attend an event near me but it warms my heart to know that the queer community is so inclusive, thoughtful and concerned about. ultimately, each other. I'm feeling very proud to be queer right now.
Inspiring!
Why thank you!
Loved hearing from the NYC march – I was at the one in London. What a great idea to bring back audio for your podcast.
Ah, so glad you enjoyed it. I love how much of the spirit of the day translated to the audio. I listen and I can see it and feel it all again.
Hey Peterson thank you very much for using my music, i really appreciate it. Be the soundtrack to the words of inspired and committed people, love it!.
Greetings from spain!
Raúl, I LOVE your music and keep looking for opportunities to share it with others. I will use a short track of yours in Episode 12. It is perfect and I play it in its entirety. I of course give you credit in the notes. Great stuff. Gracias por la musica.
Hey P, I’ve been looking at all the stuff you’ve done re queers and the climate for a paper I’m writing. You’re one of the few sources I can find 🙂 Unfortunately it seems like none of your sound files are working. Is that just my problem or have those files been taken down?
Hi Frances, thanks for the comment. There was a problem with the podcast plugin program. We have uninstalled it and put in a previous version, so on our site all the episodes are not available. Thanks for letting us know. NEW episodes begin May 4.
